The Weekly Hellscape

Anti-Vaxx Suppression, Facebook Political Censorship, Police Brutality, and MORE!

Sorry it’s late again – my fault. Shoulda recorded yesterday. But it’s here now, and even bleaker than last week! Today’s show has plenty to get your blood boiling, and no culture segment. Couldn’t ft it n and still address everything I needed to. So what does this episode have? Massacres, drones, Anti-Vaxx suppression, and more… if you wanted rage at the police and Facebook today, you’ve come to the right place. Strap in.

This season’s featured song is Sway, by Know Your Enemy – who graciously allowed me to use the song. It’s fucking criminal how unknown this band is. Go change that by liking their vid, subbing to their YT, and getting some merch if you really like it.

Sources and show notes:

In the best news you’ll probably get in this episode, I have a few items of note. #CrewDragon was returned to Earth. A commercial flight from SpaceX, it successfully launched to deliver supplies to ISS last March, and yesterday at 11p PT, it undocked, later splashing down successfully at 6:45.

Another piece of good news is that a man appears to be in remission from HIV after a successful experimentative treatment. It’s too soon to call this a cure, but there is hope.

More good news – thousands of California cops will be exposed for “police shootings, complaints of sexual assault by officers and internal records on police misconduct.”

Officers are pissed their privacy might be violated, but as you can expect, I don’t give a fuck.

Orange County Judge Orders Police Records Unsealed

And more good news on that score, in addition to the 1400 cases tied to dirty Houston cops I mentioned before, “nearly 1,000 more cases will be reviewed that are tied to another officer who was also relieved of duty, Houston police officer Steven Bryant.”

For other news, Kroger stops accepting Visa at hundreds of stores and BTC may be on the table.

But now that we have a bunch of good news out of the way, let’s hit the bad like a heavybag. Last week, I discussed vaccines, a subject over which many have recently criticized me, and since then, Amazon has stopped recommending anti-vaxx stuff, and Facebook will suppress anti-vaxx content.

Of Amazon:

The move came days after a CNN Business report highlighted the anti-vaccine comment available on the site, and hours after Rep. Adam Schiff wrote an open letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, saying he is concerned “that Amazon is surfacing and recommending” anti-vaccination books and movies.

Anti-vaccine movies that were previously available free for Prime subscribers, like “We Don’t Vaccinate!,” “Shoot ‘Em Up: The Truth About Vaccines,” and “Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe,” are now “currently unavailable.”

https://fox2now.com/2019/03/01/anti-vaccine-movies-disappear-from-amazon-after-cnn-business-report/

Of Facebook:

AS CLARK COUNTY, Washington, combats an ongoing measles outbreak, Facebook announced Thursday that it’s diminishing the reach of anti-vaccine information on its platform. It will no longer allow it to be promoted through ads or recommendations, and will make it less prominent in search results. The social network will not take down anti-vaccine posts entirely, however. The company also said it was exploring ways to give users more context about vaccines from “expert organizations.”

So now, including Youtube stemming antivax content like I discussed last week, Amazon and Facebook joined the fray. If patterns are consistent, Twitter will soon be next. Of mandatory vaxx, this is what I say, that caught me flak.

So while Facebook’s suppressing this content, it’s cozying up to governments around the world:

The documents, which have been seen by the Observer and Computer Weekly, reveal a secretive global lobbying operation targeting hundreds of legislators and regulators in an attempt to procure influence across the world, including in the UK, US, Canada, India, Vietnam, Argentina, Brazil, Malaysia and all 28 states of the EU.

This quote was provided in an article by ZeroHedge, entitled, “Internal Facebook Leak Reveals Global Bribery Scheme To Soften Data Privacy Laws”.

Another thing involving Facebook is a Project Veritas interview, exposing that they “deboost” content of pretty much whatever they feel like now. She says, in part, that they police content on “the perimeter of hate speech” in the same way they do hate speech, saying things that qualify are, “things that aren’t actually hate speech, but that might offend somebody”. Guess that’s why my joke about violent conservatives got me banned for days.

And just to hit Facebook one more time, they also tapped a neocon think thank to censor four left leaning pages critical of government and corporations…

“Facebook seemed to have outdone itself again in its ongoing suppression of independent media when, earlier this month in coordination with CNN, it banned four pages belonging to a company that was not even accused of breaking any of the platform’s rules….

In the Now, a small viral-video unit, and three of its offshoots, all owned by a company called Maffick, however, were not even accused of a red line before they were sent to Facebook prison in mid-February. Earlier this week, the pages were set free and allowed to continue promoting their journalists’ material on Facebook.”

And it also seems Brianna Wu, famous for crying about spending $3000 of campaign money on her hair, wants to silence people criticizing fiction. She said “Washington has a role to play”, and continued, “What I think will happen is if you have people in Washington sitting on the Science, Space, and Technology subcommittee, looking at this, that that threat of real legislation coming down the pipe will finally cause these companies to do the right thing.”

Legislators in Hawaii, which has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the United States, moved this week to bring their concerns about the Second Amendment to the national level.

In Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) No. 42, introduced Tuesday, Democratic lawmakers assert that

in light of the numerous tragic mass shootings at schools, work places, and public events, this body believes that it is necessary to repeal or amend the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.

In the resolution, lawmakers urge Congress to

adopt a proposed amendment to the United States Constitution pursuant to article V of the United States Constitution to clarify the constitutional right to bear arms.

The sponsors of the resolution suggest the Framers’ use of the term “well-regulated militia” was “intended only to restrict the United States Congress from legislating away a state’s right to self-defense.”

And while that came out, some cops may have gotten away with raping an 18 year old girl.

Others were suspended after trying to frame a family with a planted weapon during a raid where they verbally abused all of them, and separated them from their baby.

And to make it worse, a group of cops surrounded a man trying to pick up trash at his house, hands on weapons, because of a backup call by the first one on the scene, demanding he put down his “weapon” – a trash picker.

The legal team for Attorney Alan Dershowitz has cautioned against press access to a hearing regarding his former client and associate, convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein – who was given a slap on the wrist in 2008 by then-US Attorney for southern Florida (and current Labor Secretary) Alex Acosta. Epstein sexually abused dozens of underage girls in his Palm Beach mansion, while Acosta is under fire separately of the sealed records appeal.
